Disability Equality - small business; retail, tourism, hospitality

Training is provided at the client's premises and the trainer will therefore tailor the course to the specific requirements of that business, identifying barriers that may in themselves be disabling. Emphasis is on disability etiquette and changing attitudes.

The trainer will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to set up and become acquainted with the surroundings, carrying out a brief visual access audit. Delegates (minimum 2 maximum 16) should arrive ready to start on time and feel comfortable with contributing to the session (60mins). The trainer will be available to de-brief the client and provide comment on overall accessibility (30mins).

At the end of this course your staff will:

  • Develop an understanding of the range of impairments covered by legislation
  • Be more confident in communicating with disabled people
  • Recognise that an impairment is not necessarily a disability, when barriers are removed
  • Make your business more welcoming to the 10 million (+) people in the UK with a disability

Cost – The ‘Welcoming Disabled Customers’ course is priced at

£180 (+VAT ) for up to 6 employees

£220 (+VAT) for 6 – 16 employees

Businesses with over 16 employees should contact DWAL to discuss cost.
