About Us

DWAL was set up in response to the positive changes in legislation and attitudes towards Disabled People.

Proprietor and principal trainer, Jack Moore, is a disabled person who embraces the Social Model of Disability. This defines disability in terms of negative attitudes and discrimination caused by a society which fails to meet the needs of people with impairments.

Jack's career has been in public service and housing management and he successfully completed a BA(Hons) in Housing in 2006. He is a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, for whom he is also a freelance trainer.

All Disability Equality Training courses are provided by qualified disabled trainers to equip participants with a working knowledge of disability issues and the ability to recognise discriminatory practice. Further details are available in the DWAL Training section.

FACT - Only 17% of Disabled People were born with their impairment
